The Story

What we actually did.

A large-scale transformation on the Lake Norman waterfront. Working with our engineers, we removed the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room, replacing a small doorway with a wide, open connection built for big gatherings. The great room's ridge beam was boxed and stained to match the new wire-brushed European white oak that runs through the entire home.

The kitchen wears a three-tone cabinetry palette unlike anything we'd built before, with low-voltage lighting integrated into the cabinets and a matte-white appliance package that leans modern. New windows and doors flood the space with light, backed by flush recessed LEDs and pendants over the island.

The showpiece is the backsplash: a custom water-jet mosaic, laid piece by piece, that reads like Van Gogh's Starry Night rendered in stone. A bold new front door and a custom railing system finish the transformation.
